First Steps

KBug has been walking around furniture FOREVER.  Earlier than most babies do according to the books, so I figured he would be walking before he was one.  He stands up without holding onto anything for minutes but sits down to crawl when he wants to get somewhere.  He just didn't seem like he was interested in walking.  I couldn't even get him to walk holding onto my hands.  He would much rather be on the floor cruising along; also I think its easier down there to find things to put in his mouth.  Grrrr. This past week I was really trying to work with him.  He still didn't seem interesting until Friday night when I said "Come on Bug-a-boo you can walk, I know you can.  And then you can show Grandma Jean when she gets home.  We can surprise her."  Seriously his eyes lit up and he smirked,  grabbed onto one of my hands and started to walk.  He really seemed interested in doing so.  Of course the praises he was getting from Daddy, Dylan and myself was motivation in itself.  KBug loves applause.  By Saturday afternoon he would try to take a few steps to get from the couch to the chair all by himself.  And finally as we were walking holding onto one hand I let go and he didn't immediately bend down to the floor.  He kept going.  So Saturday night when we went to see Grandma Jean he showed her his new accomplishment.  Still only at a couple steps he was getting there.  And so proud.  Grandma said he walked more Sunday afternoon.  Sunday evening when Grandpa Howie and Grandpa Bobbie were over KBug walked form me to Grandpa and then again to Grandma Bobbie.  This time without me trying to get him to walk; he noticed something to drink in Grandma's hands and went for it.  I am guessing he will be a total walker by this weekend.

2 Bottom Lateral Incisors

KBug cut two more teeth this weekend.  I noticed they were broke through 9/18.  His bottom lateral incisors.  These didn't seem to bother him as much as the top ones did but I could tell he was teething.  Poor kid, it seems to be his trend to cut two teeth at a time.  As if one isn't bad enough.

I Have Had Enough

Keenan had his one year well baby check up on Sept 7; Dylan came to the appointment with us.  I decided to have the blood work done with Keenan that I decided against with Dylan.  I thought since we just bought a home that was dated back to the 50's that the lead test was a good idea.  As we were in the lab Dylan informed the nurses that they better not hurt his baby brother.  I didn't realize how bad this was really going to be.  I had to lay on KBug's left arm and place my leg on his legs pinning him down (which made him mad instantly) while the nurses began to draw blood.  Of course KBug started freaking out.  Dylan was in back of us sitting on a chair.  The next thing I hear "ALRIGHT I HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!!" shouted Dylan.  I turned around and he was standing up on the chair and he was angry.  I had to smile.  It was that sweet sibling moment of togetherness.  Then we made our way to the doctors office.  Dylan was just fine in the office until the two nurses came in the room together at the end of the appointment, shot time.  Dylan looked at the two nurses and said  "I'm watching you and you better not hurt him."
